Wow Karilea ... how on earth did you locate this thread. It was quite an insightful read, and timeless really. As true today, as it was a year ago, perhaps more so, due to the increase in traffic in the forums since then. The Passions Plummet happens so quickly anymore in Open (loved Doreen's lines in her Conga poem on this). I may go a few weeks before I have a poem I feel worthy of posting. Some I'll simply never post to the forums if I don't feel they're worthy, other times, when the mood strikes, I may have a few, but I hold off posting just so I don't overwhelm others. That gives me time to finesse as well. I've got 3 floating around right now in Open, all posted on different days. Normally, they'd have been read and exhausted, then disappear (which is great). Now, they get 1 or 2 responses, drift off and come back to life again ... it's been kind of funny really.  Regretfully, I've caught myself with the very odd typo, and been mortified when I realize it's been up there for all to read. I had a poem about angels, and the word "soar" was oooops "sour" when I caught it. Can't imagine how I missed it, but it sure changed the meaning of the line to say the least! I have much less time than I used to, to read and respond, though I do try to respond to at least one of everyones as often as I can. I find when I see the same name showing several in a row, I may only be able to respond to one of their poems, so I can have equal time to move on to other wonderful works. I'm sometimes diving down 4 pages now to find some of my favorite writers that have been buried. Nonetheless, I try to read a lot of new poets as well, and get to know everyone as much as I can. There's so much talent in these walls, if I had my druthers, I'd sit here daily and read every single one (then reality hits ... sigh). Great thread Karilea ... thanks for the interesting and thought-provoking read. |

for all of those that are so stuck on sepelling, I think you should know that spelling dose not always come esay to us all. Even the comp. dose not always helep. I guses what i want to say is get over it alread, there is a lot of vary bad wrighting out there that has perfect spelling and that dose not make any better.  srry but some of those people mad me mad!! I am not always lonely even if I am always alone |
