I was reminiscing today.

There was a spring and summer not so long ago, when I spent a great deal of time right here in the pip halls.  I was a poetic child at that time, trying to learn from the ones that intrigued me with their own style and story telling.
I miss those days and those writings.  I visit the archives from that time and although I ache for certain things that are no more, I also smile when I remember the excitement of seeing the names and contributions for each day I logged in.

I visit less consistently now but for those that still give, I do still get excited to see your names.

Here are some of my favorites: /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=89&topic=001968 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=81&topic=002905 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=82&topic=003358 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=89&topic=000792 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=91&topic=000361 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=82&topic=001496 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=50&topic=001839 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=44&topic=004287 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=93&topic=002755 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=93&topic=002818 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=92&topic=003452 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=83&topic=002436 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=82&topic=002829

There are so many, many more…

Duets…another favorite of mine: /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=81&topic=001678 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=77&topic=000197 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=64&topic=002542 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=91&topic=000037 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=90&topic=002288 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=82&topic=002093 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=82&topic=000657 (because I really love it) /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=80&topic=002875

Remember the “I am” challenge? /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=80&topic=003325 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=43&topic=002942 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=92&topic=000522 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=92&topic=001107 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=80&topic=003456 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=92&topic=003568 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=91&topic=002066 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=43&topic=002848

Iambe started long before I was here and it’s hard to find the first one. But she turned into this world that sometimes went beyond even her own creator…Her creator being one of whom I secretly considered a mentor.  His stories were even more powerful in person.   /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=48&topic=001822 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=48&topic=001814 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=72&topic=002896 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=72&topic=002995 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=82&topic=000340 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=82&topic=001227

There are so many more stories from Iambe and her many friends…My personal favorite was Lacey.  I like to tell myself that her creator made her a little like me.

Then there was the friendly bantering back and forth…. /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=79&topic=002115 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=31&topic=003364 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=91&topic=002246 /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=64&topic=001451

There are tons more of these.

I guess my personal favorites are the ones where an entire group of pipsters participated.  I know there were a few of these before my time that I have missed, if anyone would care to help out with some links?

I think Cpat did us all a favor bringing Iambe into these chambers, he spun her family into a linking of our own dysfunctions and Konrad will always remain grateful for his "birth". In fact, he's still searching for Dana.   Like you, I thought that Ron was indeed a wonderful mentor, and I miss his additions to these blue walls.

Aren't the archives wonderful?

A lot of good times are reflected back there.

And I loved the "I Am"...

I have been trying to remember another series (I think it was a series) that was done before I came here that involved a lot of pipsters. I have a vague recollection of it and nothing more..seemed like the main theme was a play on words. It was so good.  Killin' me that I can't remember more about it.

grrrr

shoots?  didn't it have something to do with shoots?

Wow, Susan. You certainly bring up a lot of old memories with this thread. Those WERE special times, weren't they? It was even worth putting up with Toerag's body odor!! I'm guessing Streisand asked the right question....

Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line?

Whatever the answer is...I'm glad for the experience and I'll never forget it...or any of you.

Shoots? LOL, I think you might mean 'Stutes?

/main/search.cgi?rAction=DisplayResults&cyclefile=1274568016032&run=1

(That link won't last long, but just search for 'stute in the archives to reproduce it.)

And here's an off-site compilation of the justim possible antics of that era:

You want to really go back in time? I stumbled across this archived page at the Wayback Machine just last month.

Surprisingly . . . things haven't changed as much as one might think?

"this will not be long, I promise.."

from Kaoru...

and I didn't think it would be long either...

entire nights slip into morning
give or take an hour's laugh.
Yea, it is he who chortles best
when it is he who has last laugh.

Thank you lovie, for letting me tiptoe through your library.

I love you.
