I read this in an email and found that it mirrored my feelings to a T!

"Just being in a church doesn't make you a Christian any more than being in a garage makes you a car!"

Too true!! LOL

The email said a truth.

here is my question to you

what is church?
who is Christian?

A car without a garage is still a car, right?
A car without a road is still a car, right?
A car without a driver is still a car. right?
A car without a gas is still a car, right?

A car is judged by its function or by its look?

A church with no people is still a church?
A church with no pastor is still a church?

a group of people listening to a pastor preaching under a tree(every Wed in a little park) .... what do you all that?

Even calling yourself a Christian doesn't make you a Christian--not any more than my calling myself "serenity" makes me serene. *laughing*

There is a guy doing a series on Sundance, who takes umbrage about this sort of thing, not just in the Christian community, but with religions all over the world.

"John Safran vs. God" (This series can be found in its entirety at youtube)

There's one particular portion of an episode whereupon he flies to Salt Lake City Utah, brings along a buddy and two bicycles, dressed in suits with nametags that proudly state ATHEIST-- these guys knock on doors at eight a.m. on a Saturday morning armed with Darwin's Origin of Species to give their "testimony" to the Mormon community.

One old guy took a swipe at him with a broom!

Check it out, PdV! and it's great to see you!

In the true sense of the word, the people are the church...

I like the symbolist interpretation as well.

All of the above.  I'm not "sunshine" every day. Ask the spouse!

So good to see you, Sharon.

If we took everything to a literal view, I wonder what we would really see?

Ahhh...the gate opens.....
