Breakfast at Tiffany's My Fair Lady Blade Runner Alien Enemy Mine Raising Arizona Tommy Boy O Brother, Where Art Thou Dangerous Liaisons The Libertine Gladiator The Legend of 1900 The Color Purple Lean on Me Thomas Crown Affair The Silence of the Lambs The only series I really like are the Lethal Weapon and Mad Max. Sorry, Mel fan despite the press. So, of course I adore Braveheart. New Releases: Dream Girls and 300, and the new Bond is HOT. |

I highly recommend: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Terry Gilliam (based off my favorite book by Hunter S. Thompson) Brazil by Gilliam Naked Lunch by David Cronenberg (don't worry, it's not a fleshy picture) The Life Aquatic with Steve Zisou by Wes Anderson The Royal Tenenbaums by Anderson Rushmore by Anderson City of Lost Children by Jeun-Pierre Jeunet Burden of Dreams by Les Blank (a documentary on the filming of Herzog's Fitzcarraldo) Man with the Screaming Brain by Bruce Campbell Charlie Chaplin films The Triplets of Belleville by Sylvain Chomet Kung Fu Hustle by Stephen Chow The Raven by Henri-Georges Clouzot Bubbha Ho-Tep by Don Coscarelli A Bullet for the General by Damiano Damiani Tuvalu by Veit Helmer Down by Law by Jim Jarmusch Dead Man by Jarmusch Coffee and Cigarettes by Jarmusch Harakiri by Masaki Kobayashi I also liked: 300 The Godfather (first 2) One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest Platoon Full Metal Jacket Apocalypse Now Grumpy Old Men Head Cheese & Chicken Feet |

Confessions: I cried when Glen Campbell died in True Grit. I never could stand Star Wars. I loved and owned Grease and Staying Alive albums. I participated in the Rocky Horror Picture Show mania in theaters. Thought Miles O'keeffe from Tarzan, The Ape Man was the most handsome Adonis to ever grace the big screen. and I was a cult classic horror fanatic and would rather see films such as The Shining over Blue Lagoon, when I was 12. yeah, I even got a kick out of Shaun of the Dead. and I've never been so mad at a bad ending in my life than when I watched Message in a Bottle, which made me swear off Sparks. |

Regina, Great idea to do the confessions thing! I have a few of my own: I thought Citizen Kane was dull and so, so overrated. Raging Bull is also overrated. I never liked French New Wave until recently. Yeah, I never liked Star Wars either. I think Peter Jackson is a story harvester. Every Dirty Harry sequel needs to be forgotten. The only good thing about Pale Rider was the end. There is no actress prettier or cooler than Judy Davis. I got caught up in Dogme95 and am still into it. I once called Lars von Trier in a report my distant uncle and Werner Herzog the cinema messiah. ![]() Head Cheese & Chicken Feet |

Geez Christopher -- how many of those titles haven't YOU seen? ![]() But, you do the math -- that's 89 movies at about 90 minutes per, over a 40 year period... ![]() B'sides that -- on my confession list -- I used to be part owner of a video store chain... and to this day I still can't believe the people who would come in night after night after night and take home three of em at a time. My other confession -- unlike Ron, I wait for the Cliff Notes! ![]() |

I love Monty Python; they are my main inspirations for theater. Here's a few more: Do the Right Thing by Spike Lee (One of my favorites) The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie by Luis Buñuel Night and the City by Jules Dassin Rififi by Dassin Bloody Sunday by Paul Greengrass (powerful) more later... “Suddenly a giant Cabbage Patch Doll jumps out from behind the shower curtain and grabs him violently.” |

Anybody ever seen: "And the Ship Sails On" by Fredrico Fellini? I love love love that movie. He's probably my favorite Italian director. He's made some of the most interesting and important films in all of film history. 8½ is his film about the truth of directing and it is just... Amazing. Anybody interested in filmmaking needs to see it. He also did "La Dolce Vita", very powerful movie. He did "Satyicon", "Armacord", "Histoires Extraordinaires." and several others. It's been said that he's never made a bad film. That even though certain films weren't his best, there were still certain scenes that were better than anything supplied by the movies before it. He was a real artist. You guys should check him out. “Well all the apostles, they’re sittin’ on the swings, sayin’ I’d sell off my savior for a set of new rings.” |
