I am going through 25 pounds of sugar a week, am so blessed with so many hummers.   Am thinking of applying for a hummer sanctuary so they can fund the sugar purchase...lol...I didn't have a camera without a zoom so I could only focus on one feeder at a time and don't have one pic that shows the 'mass' when they all zoom in, but still wanted to share

I just love them, the little guy in the bottom picture has taken the backyard feeder all to himself, and lets no other feed from it. So when he sits to guard it he puffs up his feathers to make himself look bigger (and more menacing I suppose) lol
me and my little one love to sit and watch him cause we can spy from the window and watch him sitting there being a little bird, not just a dive bombing sword fighter, as survival requires up on the second story where the bulk of the feeders (and hummers) are

Thanks for sharing these fine photos! I love those little hummers, and have seen them swarm and fight for position, in much the same way chickadees will do at a feeder. Sheesh, that's a lot of sugar you are buying! I can't imagaine the time it takes you to refill all those. How many feeders do you have set up? What state do you live in?
