Hey ya'all,

I've recently deployed to this wonderful sandbox known as Iraq for roughly seven to twelve months. I'm out here doing my job as a combat correspondant, which is the military's version of a journalist/photographer.

Thankfully, I can access the internet and can access this website. I'm hoping that this place will help pass the time while I'm out here.

Just thought I would say hi. Hope to see you around.

~Daniel/Titus

Hi, so glad to see you here. I have been hearing a lot about soldiers in Iraq  and the good they are doing with the people there and especially the children. The place where I work has taken on a group of soldiers in the 414th transportation co. I am sure there are some lonely soldiers who are not receiving mail or packages. As a photo journalist you will be the right one to help us at PIP to help them. If you see a need please drop a line here so we can do something. thanks, martyjo.

I know you'll keep your helmet on and your head down, but not in...the sand. Thanks for letting us know your status. Anytime you can read and post, please do, if only to let us know you are allright, and if there is anything we can do from here to make your duty time more bearable. Will there ever be a chance for us pipsters to read what you've written?

Hey all!

Thanks for all the love and support. I am doing well here; I can't complain too much for a deployment. They weren't meant to be pleasant, you know what I mean?

I'm writing stories on one of the Marine units over here; what they are doing in Iraq, what's keeping them busy, the Marines that are in the unit. I enjoy my job; I think I'm one of the lucky ones, to be honest. My job allows me a lot more indepedence.

Hope you all are well.

Hi Daniel,

Rather new at exploring Passions in Poetry, although I became a member last June, I, too, wish to add my prayers as you go about your job.  I look forward to seeing your posts.

Be well.

Thanks again, everyone.

Being able to get lost in poetry is a nice reprieve every now and then during the day. Trust me, I need those breaks here in Iraq.

Oh, by the way, if anyone wants to send me and my fellow Marines a care package, please just email me. I can get you the address for us here in Iraq.

Thanks.

Hi Daniel,

I don't really know you, but i have seen some of your posts...

Could you tell me if you have met an Oscar Garcia during your stay in Iraq? He is a photographer in Iraq right now, like yourself.

I know the chances of you knowing him are slim, way slim! But i would appreciate anything you can tell me.

I know, I'm so sorry. Please trust me when I say it's nothing personal, nor is it ingratitude. I'm simply working 15 to 16 hour days at the moment as I do my best to accomplish mission here in Iraq.

I will respond soon; thanks again for all your kindness.
