In Your Poetic Mind

Yesterday my children found a wallet on their walk around the neighborhood.....they promptly brought it home and told me the story..... When looking through it to see who it belonged to, I discovered it had well over 400 bucks in it....

I found the id, looked her number up.....

called the lady and explained my children had
found her wallet on the street, she was ever so thankful as she had taken off for her vacation, and realized she had lost her wallet.....

(for whatever reason she had left her wallet on top of her car)

I am VERY proud of my children for not leaving the wallet on the ground, and for taking action in helping return it to her....

she offered them a reward and after a little hesitation they took it....and it made them feel good to help someone!  thats what its all about in todays world.....(well part of it anyway)...

I must be doing something  right  in teaching them the value of helping and good deeds.....

just wanted to share a story with a happy ending with all... and of course my girls....

In your beauty how to make poems
You dance inside my chest where
no one sees you and that sight becomes this art

I'm very proud of those girls. Temptation has always been, will always be, a very big struggle for most young children who aren't always sure of "right and wrong". They did right - and the lady was right, too, in giving them a thank you of any kind.

Make that two proud mamas today. Are you popping your buttons off yet?

LOL my buttons popped long ago....and you are right about temptation.....and right and wrong......it makes a mother proud and validates their upbringing, that I am actually doing it right so far.... thanks sunny lady for the smile......

Lauren~You tell those sweet girls of yours
that there are many people here at Passions
who are very very proud of them.

You taught them right Lauren.

Lauren...what a wonderful story!  It isn't always so apparent that "the right thing" has happened.

You've instilled the principals of right and wrong into these two wonderful children.  And they will always know the difference.  I know that you are very proud of them.
And we are equally proud of them.

believe in what your heart feels...

You should also be proud of yourself for instilling those values in your children.

They're obviously your children! No testing required. You have every right to be proud and so do we. WooHoo!!!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Lauren- having two children myself (11 and 16) I know how hard it can be sometimes to raise them with the values and expectations for themselves that you have for them. I congratulate you for having the strength to do so... and I would like to add my voices to those who are proud of the young ones for doing what was right, and not what was easy.
