I was just re-reading the "no one can be cool in this thread", thread, and I realized suzie/littlewing had a great idea when she suggested someone start a stupid movies confessional thread. So...in the same spirit? I'll start with my own confession. Valley of the Dolls Patty Duke screaming, "I need a doll!" ![]() (original version of course *sniff*) So...now, do tell-- What's the dumbest movie you'll always love? |

Ringo??? Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, STUPID? actually it was biblical metaphor, with generous ideology of agriculture (goddess sacrifice) proposed dynamically against animal sacrifice, a total Cain and Abel repertoire in Hero's Journey...and um, you do know I'm b.s.'ing ya, right? ![]() *rolling on floor hugs* |

Oh geez, there are a ton of lame flicks I love: 1. Valley Girl (Nick Cage's first) 2. Purple Rain (c'mon the cycle is way cool) 3. Jesus Christ Superstar (I have to watch this one alone as I have yet to find someone to watch it WITH me) 4. Billy Jack (he is just a bad***) 5. Hair (another one I have to watch alone -see I sing to these movies, too - maybe thats why . . .) 6. Weird Science and all those brat pack flicks . . . 7. This strange movie from when I was little where these gurgling, cackling plantstalk like things invade a whole town eventually becoming a Day of the Dead thing goin' on . . . please let me know if anyone recognizes this movie. 8. The Blob flicks 9. Airplane 10. That movie with Angie Dickinson and the vampire . . . 11. A series that was on when I was like 10 or so that had three stories simultaneously going on - came on every week and one story was a vampire, was awesome actually. 12. Luke and Laura (General Hospital) (I remember being upset because they kept showing the attempted shot on Reagan when Luke and Laura were stuck on Miko's yacht!) 13. Kentucky Fried Movie 14. Pandemonium 15. Evil Dead flicks (OMG these are actually funny) I will be back to this . . . see what you have started, Lady? |

Many movies have been listed that are not considered to be bad movies by either the public or the movie critics... Jesus Christ Superstar ~ I love that movie. I love the original album. I love the theater version. It is pure musical and lyrical greatness. ... now for a truly bad movie that I really like, and like Kaoru, I almost always don't waste my time even to watch potentially bad movies... but there is at least one... Valley of the Dolls ~ The orignal Patty Duke version The acting is terrible, the dialogue even worse, but for some reason, I enjoy watching it. "I have gone away. The bed is cold and empty. Trees bend their boughs toward the earth. And nighttime birds float as black faces." |

This is one of my favorite comedies as a kid "Summer Rental" (1985) staring John Candy....here's some of the quotes. Scully: Hey mate! Good to see you. What can I get ya? Jack Chester: How about... drunk. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack Chester: Wait a minute -- [reads notice posted in his backyard] Jack Chester: "Public Beach." Oh, well then... [to crowds streaming past] Jack Chester: Hi, I'm Joe Public, welcome to my beach! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Discussing the ocean] Scully: She'll make ya rich, or she'll feed ya to the fishes. If she wants you to dance, sonny boy, you've got to follow her lead. Jack Chester: Didn't I read that on your bathroom wall? Scully: Yes. And it's as true today as when I hung it there. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack Chester: Can you tread water with that hook? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vicki: Can I have your honest opinion about something? [lifts bikini top] Vicki: What do you think of these? Well, how do they look? Jack Chester: Uh, similar? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack Chester: I love you Scully. That's not the booze talkin' either. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack Chester: Don't serve those. Al: What are you doing? Jack Chester: These are my lobsters. Al: Your lobsters? Jack Chester: That's right you've got my table but you're not getting my lobsters. Al: Oh and this is your table? Jack Chester: [Slams his hands on the table] My table! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack: Get the hell out of here now! Fat Man: You get out of here fella. I'm trying to watch the Smurfs. Jack: You're trying to watch the Smurfs? Fat Man: Yeah. Jack: Did you see the one where Papa Smurf took a crutch and smashed the **** out of a guy with a red hat? Did you see that one? You want to see that one? (Fat Man runs away.) So great.... ![]() |

Oh God....how about "Night Shift" (1982) with Henry Winkler and Michael Keaton. Another favorite of mine when I was younger.... Bill: I'm an idea man Chuck, I get ideas, sometimes I get so many ideas that I can't even fight them off! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bill: So there I was at the Blackjack table with all my wash 'n' dries... did I tell you I had they idea for them first? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bill: Hold the phone, hold the phone! Edible paper! You eat it, it's gone... you eat it, it's outta there! No more garbage! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bill: Wait a minute! Why don't they just mix the mayonnaise with the tuna in the can... HOLD THE PHONE! Why don't they just FEED the tuna fish mayonnaise! [speaks into tape recorder] Bill: Call Starkist! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chuck: This is Chuck to remind Bill to SHUT UP! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bill: We're all adults here - we can talk about this openly... [writing on chalkboard] Bill: PROSTITUTION! But what does that mean really? Let's break up the word. First there's Pros... well, that doesn't mean anything really... then there's Tit... we all know what that means... and then there's shun to shun is to say No! To push it away! To shun something is, well... it really doesn't belong in this word at all, really. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leonard: Oh, that Barney Rubble. What an actor. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bill Blazejowski: I wash my hands and my feet of you! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Belinda Keaton: Bill, Bill, are you all right? Did you break anything, Bill? Bill Blazejowski: I caught an updraft. Chuck Lumley: Are you ok? Bill: Yeah, I'm all right, don't worry, I'm all right, fortunately the ground broke my fall. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chuck Lumley: As we sit here and idly chat, there are woman, female human beings, rolling around in strange beds with strange men, and we are making money from that. Bill Blazejowski: Is this a great country, or what? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bill Blazejowski: What's our job? We like drive around and pickup stiffs, or what? Is that what we are suppose to do? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bill Blazejowski: [picking up photo from desk] Hey Chuck? Who is this? Your wife? Chuck Lumley: Fiancée. Bill Blazejowski: Nice frame! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bill: LOVE BROKERS! ![]() |

![]() "The Breakfast Club" is a classic cult film, just as "Napoleon Dynamite" is becoming. ![]() I'd have to say: "A.I: Artificial Intelligence" (I know Kubrick and Spielberg have different tones in their directing, but this was just a mess.) "The Terminal": (The real life story of the man who moved from a war-torn part of the world and living in a terminal for a long time is very moving, but this movie just totally embellishes it. "Battlefield Earth" "Gigli" "Anchorman" (This was meant to be goofy, but I really didn't find it funny. The whole fight scene featuring Ben Stiller, who is a very funny guy often, was bad, and though I felt this film had a right idea going, the substance just wasn't there.) ![]() By the way, I loovveeee the Austin Powers films! ![]() Mike Myers really is a sort of genius in terms of creating characters that have lasting impressions on people. Mike Myers is a guy who really knows his roots and is not ashamed to make fun of them! (He also played the dad of the main character in "So I Married An Axe Murderer", which, like he has done in Austin Powers and the Shrek movies, put some Scottish spunk in his persona!) ![]() Love, Noah Eaton "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" |

NAPOLEON DYNAMITE.. definently not stooopid, but sorta that stupid/funny genre. Some great quotes! "I see you're drinking one percent, is that because you think you're fat? Cuz you're not, you could be drinking whole if you wanted!" "Napoleon, don't be jealous because I've been chatting online with babes ALL DAY!" "But my lips hurt real bad!" "Who's Trisha?" "My woman I'm taking to the dance" "Did you draw her a picture?" "Heck yes I did!" "GOSH! Freakin Idiot!" "Thats pretty much the worst video ever made!" "How much you wanna bet I can throw a football over them mountains?" "Tina, you fat lard, come get some dinner!" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Love's a lovely lad |

Who doesn't love "The Breakfast Club... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Breakfast Club: Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole saturday in detention for whatever it is we did wrong, but we think you're crazy for making us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us, in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out, is that each one of us is a brain, and an athlete, and a basketcase, a princess, and a criminal. Does that answer your question? Sincerely yours, The Breakfast Club. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vernon: Gimme that. Bender: I don't have it. Vernon: You want me to yank you out of that seat and shake it out of you? Bender: I don't have it. Screws fall out all the time, the worlds' an imperfect place. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bender: I have such a deep admiration for guys who role around on the floor with other guys. Andrew: You'd never miss it. You don't have any goals. Bender: Oh, but I do. I want to be just like you. I figure all I need is a lobotomy and some tights. Brian: You wear tights? Andrew: No, I do not wear tights. I wear the required uniform. Brian: Tights. Andrew: Shut up! ![]() |

"Airplane" a classic....but stupid!!! Oh my God...Mr Bean is too much for me...I just look at the screen with a blank look on my face wondering why my Mom and Brother think he's funny. Jim Carrey has alwayz annoyed me but, my brother loves him. I have to admit though in some cases he is slowly growing on me. Do you guys remember Ernest....Like "Ernest Goes to Summer Camp", and "Ernest Goes To Jail". I thought he was soo funny when I was little. How about "Meatballs" (1979) with Bill Murray.???? I must have watched that a million times as a kid. Ok....I better go before I get too deep into this before bedtime.... |

Any movie starring Bill's younger brother John Murray is pretty darn awful. Think I watched a few many years ago on tape...yes, on tape. As in VCR. The box where you put boxy thingies inside...kinda like a high-tech 8 Track. ![]() |

![]() I wouldn't consider "Raising Arizona" stupid so much as it is just random. It's a funny film with a pretty straight-forward plot as narrated in the beginning, with just the random capers driving the film, like the sinister biker, and the scenes where the two other escaped convicts forget Nathan Jnior twice as they try and rob a bank. "723 Mississippi, 722 Mississippi, seven hundred and....ehhhh, bullsh.....(spots two returning to get Nathan Jr. who they left behind) 720 Mississippi..."
