ummm? post it?
I would put it in prose personally if its that long. I think it would struggle in Open.

Gotta think about the attention span of most readers.  If it don't fit on one visible page (no scrolling), then they don't read it unless they know the author or like the author.  Sad but true.

post it in a slower forum, like Corner Pub, so it doesn't suffer sinkage.

Give it an interesting title.

Also, add a prefatory note that makes mention of the poem's origin and/or significance so that people are perhaps more interested in reading to the very finish.

I'll promise you a reply if you post it.  How does that sound?

Ok
Three totally different answers

Might think about it some more

It is too long to fit in with anything I have seen here so far
It could break into Three seperate poems following on from each other
But then the flow would be disrupted

Thankyou all for your input so far

Of course, you could always send it to Brian [LP]...he loves to read!

There.  That's another alternative.

There have been a few people that have split poems into separate pieces, as you hve suggested, and posted them separately. Give that a try, and put it into a slower forum as LP suggested... Just remember:
If you post it, they will come...

OK, OK... I'll stop
lol

Actually, this thread came along at a really interesting time.. I am working on an "epic" poem about the battle of Iwo Jima. Watching how you handle your poem should let me know how to do mine.
Thanks

I myself have done short series on a theme poems myself in the past.  If you post each as a separate segment perhaps linking to each poem as you go you will be sure to have your work seen.  I will be looking for it should you decide to post.

Ok

I have broken it up

Still seems to be Ok in pieces

I put the first part in Corner Pub

Named it Prophecy 1

Hope you enjoy it
Then someone better teach me how to link poems together

Thanks for all your input

Linking is just a matter of cutting and pasting the web addres where you posted the first part.

Just in case:
Bring up the page where you posted Prophesy 1 and RIGHT click on the adress bar and click COPY (or CUT)

When you post the second part (I am guessing Prophesy 2) at the beginning or the end, right click again and click on PASTE.
Leave a short note explaining that it is the first part.
Now... do the same thing for Prophesy 2.
Go back and edit Prophesy 1, and place the link for Prophesy 2 at the end of the poem so we can go from one to the next seemlessly.

Hope It Helps

Or you could make it a bit easier for the reader and use UBB Code to hyperlink the page while giving it a name, just like I did with UBB Code.   Help pages are found in the Member's Area/Help section in the dark blue menu section at the top of your screen.
