More like days, really.

Sheesh.

and all this time I thought I was making up my own words to those lines . . .

What about "Blinded by the Light?

wrapped up like (what?) another runner in the night . . .

And she was blinded by the light
Cut loose like a deuce another runner in the night

I think . . . still makes no sense to me.

*laughing here*

I tried to find an old thread I started once about song lyrics--I couldn't find it, so I guess I'll tell my story AGAIN. (sorry, heh)

But I had misunderstood the lyrics to "On the Cover of the Rolling Stone" for years.

The part where they sing,

"I got a creepy old lady named Cocaine Katie who embroiders on my jeans"

I heard:

"I gotta kinky old lady named Cold Creme Katie..."

*shudder*

The visuals, I tell ya, they make for some horrid nightmares!

grinning

walsh sings:

"i gotta mansion, forget the price"

my brother thought it was

"i gotta magic porky surprise"

The word for mis-heard lyrics is 'mondegreen,' deriving from a 50's folk song. The lyrics "They slew the Earl of Morray and laid him on the green," where commonly mis-heard as 'They slew the Earl of Morray and Lady Mondegreen.'

and there is your useless fact for the day

My husband taught his buddy who loves to sing the lyrics to a song buddy never heard before - wrong, just for a laugh.  The guy spent weeks bellowing out the words at our trailer - entertaining neighbors and dozens of relatives.

EVERYONE  knew the words were wrong 'cept him.  It was a good laugh.
