Ever played Twenty Questions as a kid? You know, the game where you think of something fairly common and someone asks questions (to which you must reply honestly) in an attempt to narrow down the possibilities to exactly what you had in mind? It's probably not as visually captivating as a chicken, but I think 20Q.net is probably even more remarkable. Artificial Intelligence is still just a trick, but it's certainly becoming a very impressive trick. |

Yeah! Finally at least someone knows how smart I am! You won! Play Again What you were thinking of is not in my knowledgebase. It guessed a great dane, orc, rock band, steam locomotive, mule and then it gave up and all the time it was a grizzly bear. Maybe this is artificial US intelligence and it is not in tune with a Canuck mind?  |

How weird. I thought of "microdot" so what's with all the "carrots" that came up as possible answers? I counted twenty of 'em. I won the game but I don't feel smart, just confused.  |

Since I stumped the game three times, and kept getting "Is it a carrot?" as a possible answer, naturally I played again, thinking of a carrot. Of course they beat me with that one. But? Under Uncommon knowledge about a carrot, I read: "Does it involve contact with other humans? I say Yes." hmmm...I hesitate to ask the level of involvement of that contact. and then previously I was asked, "Is it heavier than a pound of butter?" Um...why the butter? If it were heavier than a pound of anything, the implications of human contact would be infinitely more interesting. Thanks Ron.  amusing little game here....  |

I stumped it with a marble..although it will say I answered wrong about carrying it in my pocket..it didnt ask can it be carried in a pocket..it asked do I carry it in my pocket..which I don't. 'tis fun *s M |

laughing, I won, but 20Q did guess it eventually. It was "courage." smiling at this: "Do you use it when you write? You said Yes, I say No." I say it takes courage to write a grocery list some days. Just try posting on one of those hostility filled web sites too. Hrrmmmph. |

The interesting thing about this, to me, is that I just played three games and had 20Q correctly guess grizzly bears, scissors and marbles, respectively. It certainly doesn't know everything, but it learns VERY quickly. |
