Susan~
I SEE it and I dread it AGAIN !!

I'm in DeLand ... and the projected path I saw this morning shows it coming right through here too~
Don't know about you, but I'm getting a bit weary of this entire process~

Man o' man ... give us a break !

Too pretty a name for such a frightening threat~

Jeanne conjures up lacy thoughts, delicate and pretty ... not hurricanes !!

Be safe lady !

Well, if it's any consolation, that's one of the cutest H's I've ever seen!

If it gets too rough, get the H out of there!!!

I am starting to read these with my hands over my eyes.  Good grief, enough!  Stay safe all of you, and store up water like crazy.  I sure hope this is the last of it, and it is milder than the last.  Watching, hope God is too.

The most popular repair crews last time were the Canadians! There were signs around town thanking them for coming all this way to help out.

In a few hours, the first bands of storm will hit. I'm not afraid - perhaps a bit excited? I've always loved storms for some reason but I'm not so sure I'll love this one!

No one in our neighborhood evacuated. We are all still here - in fact I think very few people left this time. I think more went to shelters - those who had their roofs weakened in the last storm were told not to stay in their homes. And we had a piece of Ivan come through last week to soak the ground and flood some low lying areas. So if we get lots of rain (predicted 5-10 inches) we'll have even MORE water.

The next few weeks are going to be the hardest for everyone. Trying to get back to normal yet again. And maybe, just maybe, I can close the deal on my condo. "God willing and the creek don't rise!"

I feel so badly for you guys, the wrath of nature is just a bit much this year! The hurricanes have even affected the weather here in Minnesota! There were fronts coming in from the south which flooded south Minnesota, and we've been getting some really hefty storms up in the northern parts. I know it hardly even compares, but that's how drastic these storms are.

I know that there's a family or two up here that have allowed people from the islands and Florida to stay in their homes until the season has passed. They don't even know these people, and they are lending them something so generous. If my trailer were a double-wide, I'd have you up here in a heartbeat.

P.S. - I love Canadians.

Susan, I'll be your port in the storm any day - with my girlfriend's approval, of course!

Stay safe you guys. Geesh, what a rough season this has been.

I see from the map that we up here in Philly will be getting the left-over winds and rain again. We're so soggy now the water has nowhere left to go. Lots of flooding this past week. Nothing, of course, compared to what you folks have had to deal with.

Stay safe. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Well, Jeanne has come calling. The trees are doubled over, the surf has reached the streets in Hollywood and the gusts are knocking the reporters off their feet....and it's stronger a  little farther north.

They  say the bad stuff will be here in a few hours....can;t wait.

I found this site where there is live coverage of Jeanne on real player, and digital doppler so we can follow along what is happening down there to our friends with Jeanne.
http://www.tcpalm.com/

After pacing around on the rug to the point of wearing a hole in it, I finally did get through to Sharon (PoetdeVine) on her cel phone.  She's not at home, and is in an emergency shelter in her town for the time being.  When I was speaking with her you could actually hear the door on the shelter shaking, and the loudness of the winds and sound of the rain were also audible, but she was at least safe.  This structure is 1/2 below ground, so of course she was a little more than worried for her family above ground.  Turns out Jeanne is a little stronger than figured.  I didn't want to wear down her battery in case her family tried to reach her, but wanted to know she was safe from 90-120 mph winds, etc.

I guess all we can do is just pray for our friends in Florida, that this is the last of this.

Nice Duncan.  Hasn't anyone gotten control of you yet?

lol

We got a lot of wind and rain (I thought it was worse than Frances) and lost electric for around 12 hrs (on and off).

But we are okay.

How is everyone else?

HiSusan~
Sorry I didn't get back to this one sooner.
I checked in on another link and forgot about this one~

I'm still grumpy from all the new mess to clean up in the meadow, but other than being without power for 10 hours, we are all okay here~

So many lost sooooo much ... it's difficult to even be 'glad' for what we do have when we see others impacted so severely~

Life goes on ... and so it shall~
But, I sure hope nature holds no more of these in store for us for a while ... in SPITE of what the Farmer's Almanac says !!!
