I'm just curious... I have a tendency to yak my face off and I feel like I always have too much to say...and I was thinking thats part of what makes me a writer. My question is do you have that "problem"? My assumption here is that people who write have a lot to say. |

Well, some of us just don't seem to listen when we are told to "PLEASE SHADDUP!" Seriously, I know lots of good writers, so much better than me, that tend to be silent in a crowd. The volume of conversation and the volume of quality writing content don't seem to track in a parallel ascent. Does that help any, or is this just a bucket of mud I left on the page? |

Well, I do have a lot to say at times and what I love about writing is that I can complete a sentence without interruption. I can tell a story in my own time, without annoying questions that side-track me from my point of destination. Editing is lovely too. ![]() I feel more like I am heard when I write. It's rather lovely too. ![]() |

Nope....I'm quiet to the point of nonexistence. What makes me a writer is 'need'....the need to write. |

With me it's just the opposite. I've always had a hard time talking to people. I'm shy and reticent to the point of being invisible in any room where there are more than a couple of people. Conversation of any kind is sometimes almost painful to me. I've always thought my writing was a kind of overcompensation for that weakness. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

I'm very articulate, curious and expressive...I've been told I do talk with a lot of expression...but...in a crowd, I'm rather shy, so writing is of a need to express for me... I'm different with girlfriends and people I've known for a long time...loving to talk about everything, getting feedback and their feelings about the topic (s) Woman do not ususally like me...b/c I'm so expressive...and perhaps find it difficult to relate to me, b/c I grew up with boys and their subjects did and still do interest me...hate shopping and soap operas with a passion... So, after rambling, I will tell you this, don't ever be embarrased of who you are or how you articulate, b/c no matter how much you say...somewhere within the words, will be something from which everyone will pull from to help them on their way. The most significant part of you is your signiture, so don't ever be afraid to sign your true name. Hugs and thank you for sharing |

I observe. I don't talk much, I listen and watch. Sometimes I interject in order to ask questions...then I write. ![]() "cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind" |

No, I don't have that problem... but then I don't think of myself as a writer..nor as having much to say.. |

Well...my nickname has always been "fast-forward," but it sure never really helped me write I don't think. Still ... I write lots simply because I love it, but it doesn't make what I say good. I love talking to people - any people. So, I guess the answer to your question would be yes, talkative people have lots to say, and some write about it, at least from my experience ![]() |

Mysteria - It seems that personality doesn;t affect the ability to write - some think and yak about it, others think, others watch, and thay all have amazing ideas that benefit us all. |

Coopperbell, I think that I write because I feel a need to communicate....whether I have anything to say or not, so sometimes I seem to ramble on and on and on and on and on and on and on.....lol Sharon, I had to smile at your remark! (Mostly because.....I have been accused of that, too!) |

My hands talk to the keyboard to the computer. Or with pen to paper. Otherwise, you'll find me in a crowd, doing most of the listening. Shy folks happen to be like that. But you WILL find a smile while I'm listening, trying to absorb what everyone else is saying. ![]() |

Iliana, Ethan - ![]() Sunshine - I never would have guessed you to be shy. This has been an interesting discussion - my little assumption was fully wrong - ![]() The thing I find interesting is that in reading everyone's writing, you feel like you know them - at least a little - and yet if two of us were to meet in a crowd, we might never speak, and the ideas and experiences and observations that are put into this site might never be shared. This is an extraordinary way to communicate. |
