when you look at the clouds, do you see things in them? sometimes I can see faces, but when I try to look colser, they melt away.

Wind, yes, I see things in the clouds all the time. I guess if you are looking for something you will see it! I wrote this poem based on my granddaughter seeing angels in the clouds! This was based on actual events and conversation, I just put it to rhyme. I often think back on this day and it always brings me a great big smile!

Afternoon Delight

Hey, look up there, up in the sky, an angel’s floating by
With pretty puffy wings ‘n’ curly puffy hair, oh my,
I hope someday God gives us pretty wings so we can fly
And bounce around all day on puffy clouds up in the sky.

You shoulda seen my friend today, oh boy, did he look cool
He wore a leather jacket, boots and shades today to school
I think he really likes me ‘cause he sat close to my stool
And said, “when it gets hot again, come to my swimming pool.”

(Watch over, Lord, my sweet Nicole!)

My tummy’s hungry, needs a snack, can we stop by the store?
Can I get chocolate pretzels, chips, and maybe one thing more?
I’ll do my homework really good, right down here on the floor
See all these stars? My teacher said good work is what they’re for.

(My shining star, you are, Nicole!)

She said to study good tonight, tomorrow is our test
My homework’s done, can I watch ‘toons’? They are the funniest
I’m not a baby, don’t take naps, but maybe I’ll just rest
And wait for Mommy to get here…oh, Mom-Mom, you’re the best…
