quote:

A North East writer has been given a grant of £2,000 to use sheep to create random poems, which also utilise the deepest workings of the universe.
The money has been provided by Northern Arts for Valerie Laws to create a new form of "random" literature.

Each of the animals has a word from a poem written on their backs and as they wander about the words take a new poetic form each time they come to rest

What do you think?

I thought I was the only person who used this method to write poetry. I am going to have to speak to my lawyers.

ROTFLMAO at that image.  What a silly thought. Will they jump over fences in my sleep? Perhaps that's the newest muse methodology?

And now it can be revealed how Shakespeare REALLY wrote all his stuff:

lol - amusing. You know everything's gone haywire when they have to use animals and spray paint as poetic inspiration rather than for assorted naughtiness.

Personally, I think it's a baaaaaaaaaaaaaad idea.

I'm a sheep... Somehow I think this was a bad thread in which to make that revelation... Leaving now...

Are you laughing at my sheepiness? I warn you, I am a sheep! You may laugh at my brains, my wool, or my smartness, but if you laugh at my sheepiness, one of us must die!

Bernard Shaw has my most humble apologies for butchering one of his lines... It was one of my favorites... Passion, Poison and Petrifaction.

1. Take money and buy return fair for bus and journey into town.

2. Buy a pen, pad and hat.

3. Buy and consume coffee.

4. Write words on peices of torn up paper from the pad.

5. Get members of the public to pick a peice of paper out of the hat.

6. Write poem on remainder of pad with chosen words.

7. Put hat on head.

8. Travel home.

Estimated Cost £10

This story came out of my area, now I'm not big in the arts scene but I know the value of money and I have to say that Northern Arts have made a huge mistake. A can of spray paint costs £2.50 each even if they bought 100 cans that would be £250 and sheep go for around £3 each in places... so thats only £300 if you but 100, we are now upto £550... now you don't need an artist to write words on sheep so no fee there and you can sell them straight on after you've finished with them so I fail to see where the rest of the money is being spent...
