Rad, this was funny. For some reason I got the image of some old coal miner guy missing a few teeth getting soaked in a bar. A fun read indeed. |

Ahh Rad, this gave me a chuckle... it was refreshing and I loved the ending...I could just see this strapping big man just laying on the flattery to get his dinner. What is it they say 'The way to a man's heart is through his stomach?' and? perhaps the way to a woman's heart is through flattery or 'Flattery will get you nowhere'... hopefully it is the former. I did enjoy. Thanks for sharing. caterina |

Thank you both for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed the poem. Yes, dinner is very important to us as are complements to women. This fellow, though, lacks subtlety perhaps cause he's been hitting the bottle or just maybe cause he has no better sense, or just doesn't care. You know, I somehow sense that he ain't gettin his dinner despite his pourin it on! [This message has been edited by Radrook (09-27-2002 01:15 AM).] |

I suspect you're right Rad. That would not get dinner at my house ![]() Thanks for the levity, Pete |
