Memories can never fade. A creak on the floorboards, As dust flies, Soon to settle, Treading this untrodden path, Left isolated, for so many years, Archaic, a time gone by, A place from long ago. Creeping, Trying not to disturb, What has lain forgotten, So long. The creek portraying age, A long time has past, A time close to forgotten. But I remember. The laughs, The tears, The easy, the hard, The good, the bad, The memories that are contained, Within these old boards, Memories that will never leave me, Not even in a forgotten eternity. Memories are all I hold, And all I have to hold to, To remember, To love. A treasure cavern of memories to keep. |

Hi! If only we had a time machine with which we could go back and relive those precious moments and avoid those painful ones! But memory serves us well. When we least expect it, an aroma, a sound, a scene, or any other sense impression unexpectedly and hurriedly forces us to relive both the pleasant and the unpleasant--the cherished and hated. We are both blessed and cursed by this faculty of remembrance. But we would never relinquish it--not for all the money in the world! [This message has been edited by Radrook (08-18-2002 08:46 AM).] |
