A Much Traveled Corridor

Behind those door I conned and planned,
I still need epiphany.
That light from thinking paled me now
For I sought some honesty.
And in that room there's too much stress,
Too many wrongs I have seen.
And in my quest no grace. There is
Much woe to be cleaned.

In corridors some vulture sits
He is my guilt, he revealed.
And with my trusty dagger vow,
My hand will take up my shield.
And though some cruel words have been said,
I will not be rendered shrill.
Their plea did waft across my face,
And they did try to shake my will.

There's many doors, but no more time,
There are more ways to correct.
And though I thought the tears were due,
I'm peeved now I was upset.
And as the tomb begins to crawl
With lies. they're below, so small.
And though they came with voice so sly,
They could not care, only lie.
