Last night it was dark, and Truth came into my room as I lied in my bed, drifting toward sleep, my head at rest. I remember not what She looked like exactly, or if She even had a look- I reached for my pen to take a picture for posterity’s and my own sake, but it was too late- She had left the way She came. I could only feel the breeze against my skin as She left, not questioning, only wondering if that was her sweet fragrance drifting in the space within my face, between my ears: it put my body to deep sleep. This morning, as I brushed my teeth I think I wanted to remember that She looked a lot like a glowing Santa Maria, and sounded a lot like a drunken Bob Dylan. ==================== Dec. 1999 by D.E. The Truth was obscure To profound and to pure To live it you have to explode. A Drunken Dylan is good enough for me. Jon Heading for another Joint |

Truth is but a fading figure in today's reality... Almost to hard to catch a true glimpse of ... I like this a lot.. MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU, MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN, MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND Irish Blessing |

mr./mrs. fairye: i didn't mean for it to be particularly obscure; it's the most personal poem i've written, and i started out wanting to make it a tribute to Dylan (who has more influence on me than any other poet), so i basically wanted it to be about how some of Dylan's stuff is the closest thing to earthly truth i've encountered in art. it's pure, simple, and honest, and that's what i wanted this one to be. |

ah, i didn't know Bob's a poet as well as a singer. Great guy eh? Well, the poem is probably a little obscure at the start that it's supposed to be a tribute to Bob. But yeah, your hint is of great help, thanks, I think I will get to like his poetry as well as his songs (Do you know 'blowing in the wind'? ) Jõmes |
