Sitting in class, observing the world around Nature is losing splendor. Once full of vivacity. Green, Blue, Yellow Colors of the Rainbow Elements of Nature. Sitting in class, observing the world around. Overrun with corruption while looking outside, into the forest; I see, Blue tears fall from our mothers eyes. Why does she hurt? She is covered with scars! Her once beautiful complexion begins to fade: covered with pollutants. Sitting in class, observing the world around Time is regaining the ice cold grip. Mother is losing the struggle What can anyone do When cries of help from our mother Are Not Heard. Sitting in class, looking at mother: in pain I begin to weep with her when I find the truth. The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, not the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship." --Ralph Waldo Emerson |

Powerful message dhuron. Our mother is being poisoned by the very children she feeds and clothes. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Very good poem. ...Give me the strength to walk the soft earth, a relative to all that is.... Black Eagle Oglala Sioux holy man |

dhuron, Very poignant. So sad what we do to Mother Earth. If we humans don't stop, one day she'll have nothing left. Very well written. Sheila ...the earth and myself are of one mind. The measure of the land and the measure of our bodies are the same........... Joseph, Nez Perce Chief |
