Always watching you Always there They picked you You live in fear of them Wondering when you'll see them again When they will be there You live in fear You don't know When they will be there again Waiting for you To Be Alone So they can make you insane Because they want you to see Them And their dried blood They want you to be afraid So the power can be theirs So your power is lost When staring at them Staring right through them Seeing their rage And pain That seeps out In one long blank stare While you just stand frozen Staring back Knowing in reality Nothing is even there. |

Booo!!! Joy..that is so 'haunting'. It's 3-55am here and I was about to sleep. I'm not sure I shall now. I am disturbed by this, was that the intent? I like it too though. |

John, I am sorry to have disturbed you. I just got inspired to write this, I don't know where from, just from inside my head I guess. The intent is the ghosts that haunt us are really comming from inside ourselves, we are creating them and we don't even know it. That is what I meant by this poem. I am glad you liked it also. Joy |

Joy, as the ghosts are in us, so is the power. We can be our own worst enemy or own own best friend depending on which we draw on. Shall it be then, the ghosts or the power??? You have written this hauntingly. ...Give me the strength to walk the soft earth, a relative to all that is.... Black Eagle Oglala Sioux holy man |

Great poem Joy it's so easy to fool others but in a sense we're haunted by that in the end ... how I related to this anyway "A poet is one who spends a lifetime standing out in thunderstorms, waiting to be hit by lightning" ~Randal Jarrell~ |

Joy, You made your point very well, and I can relate to what you are saying, it's hard to always have the power up front and not fall from it now and then. I am as guilty as everyone else when it comes to letting forces beyond our control influence me now and then. |

Joy, The ghosts sure can haunt us if we let them. Have been there myself, but we must try not the let them overcome us. Very well done!! Sheila ...the earth and myself are of one mind. The measure of the land and the measure of our bodies are the same........... Joseph, Nez Perce Chief |
