This may not be appropriate for this forum and I trust that the moderators will remove it if they deem it is not. What demon haunted you? What hopeless thoughts ran through your mind? Our hearts lay torn from the sharpness of our loss. He cradled you in his arms as he screamed into the night. Desperate crys of horror, anguish and anger. Begging help from unseen forces, pleading with you not to leave. Cries that filled the night air as your life force ebbed steadily away. He no longer speaks of this. The cylinder was full thoughts of family and friends unthought. In a moment you made a decision. The hammer drawn back....... The moment became forever. Your decision became final. And, we are left to ask, why? Written in 1977 |

This spoke volumes! And rippled all kinds of emotions inside of me. I am not sure exactly why. What you have here is quite powerful and intense! Awesome job! Amy ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ |

I totally understand that question as I've been there too. Very sad. Sometimes an answer comes and sometimes it never does. But it never takes away the pain or justifies the act itself. |

Thank you all for your comments. This was written a few months after my brother committed suicide. He died in my younger brothers arms. For some reason my emotions have been stirred up again regarding this. Again, thank you. |

This is an awful heavy bit of writing kim, Ifind this a little disturbing in the sense that, in reality there is so much of it. No greater sadness than a young life thrown away, I have no answer, just a sadness at the thought, those of you who have had to face this have my prayers. bill |

Take comfort in knowing that those who love you are there for you anytime you have the need to vent. I have read this before and still find it as chilling as I did the first time I read it.........btw, I did respond to this a couple of days ago, but apparently it didn't take for some reason. Yes, I've seen it around me. It leaves everybody with the same question: Why ? Your poem translates it very well. I'm glad you posted it here. |

This is a scene of utter anguish, I wish all who had those thoughts could stop and see the intense pain that generates to all the people that know and love them, but unfortunately many can only feel their own pain and choose to try to escape it. |
