The tax man cometh but once a year Wielding high his calculator Peering in our private files Like a monetary investigator Odd how this man comes to take What Santa Claus just bestowed Perhaps they work side by side One giving, One saying ‘it’s owed!” That tea party of olden times Now seems a good plan to me At this rate, I may have to work Till I’m a hundred and three Why do they take such a large chunk Of what I work so hard to get Where do they spend all that cash On furs, jewels perhaps a ‘Vette? I only know I’m ready to revolt So I’m looking for a crate of tea I’ll toss it in the nearest puddle That should set me free! |

Oh, how appropriate this is! I just did my daughter's taxes for her this afternoon. Every year they make the forms more complicated. Are they just trying to drive us nuts as well as take all our money!? ROFL@ Nan's comment! hehehehehe Better yet, let's sell the tea to help pay our taxes! Great poem, Sharon! Denise |

I've a better idea...let's take away all of the people on the hill - put their income back into the government [after all, who would keep buying lemons and bad decisions???] and put the government back into the hands of the people. Anyone seen that recent Employee 500 list of what we actually have out there working "for us" on the hill? A real eye opener... Very appropriate poem for this time of year thats for sure. I don't have any harbors close by, but I may be willing to help you dig one. It's fantasy. But if it contains a piece of me doesn't that make it as real as I am? |

She heard a little knocking, It's coming from the door, Oh my God it's "Uncle Sam" Says she owes him more. So Ms. deVine has a plan, To satisfy the IRS, She'll seduce old Uncle Sam, Bra-less tanktop and short dress. Then she puts her plan in action, As she kisses down his stomach, Now she'll get a refund, Because the tax-man "cometh" [This message has been edited by Toerag (edited 01-13-2000).] |

I love this, PDV!!! If you need some help with that tea, just let me know! And ROFL @ Toe... I could use a monetary refund But I'm not sure I'd resort To such drastic measures For fat, bald, stinky, and short Simply makes my stomach heave A mighty big protest I guess I'd rather owe my soul To the IRS! I'd be more then happy to dump the tea with thee... MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU, MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN, MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND Irish Blessing |
