It's beautiful out here
as I lay on the beach.
I lay not on the sand
but on a red satin sheet.
The sound of the waves
crashing on the shore.
As I look to the stars thinking
could I ask for more?
You wrap your right arm
around my waist.
As I take in the warmth
of your loving embrace.
You pull me close
and i lightly kiss your chest.
Out of all the nights i've lived
tonight's the best.
The stars are bright.
The sky is blue.
Slowly I begin
making love to you.
After we're done
and the love making is through.
I lay there cuddled
close to you.

As I hold my pillow tight
the alarm clock rings
and i have to open my eyes
knowing all the pain it brings.
It was only a dream.
The beach, we were never there.
