Alone in the park on a warm spring day, Listening to children at their play. Peering with eyes that can barely see, Savoring a long ago memory. She was the mother with children then, Her lovely Annie and charming Ben. Reading a book or pushing a swing, Flying a kite with unraveling string. Reluctantly picking up her cane, Slowly she turns toward home again. She eats her dinner and sits alone, Staying ever near to her silent phone.
