you know, it's a bother to write this.
it's hard now even to think.
it's not too much fun,
quite hard to be done:
expressing myself in ink.

perhaps if i had some pencils,
i could draw a picture for you.
a picture's worth
a thousand words.
but that's something i just can't do.

so, since i can color no portrait
(the likes that your eyes can see),
i'll write a few words,
but a thousands obsurd!
so, would you settle for eighty-three?

( to those who would argue that this poem has eighty-four words: eighty-three is a compound word.)

Shady- this is terrific- we have all been there a few times - 83 vs 84 - what the heck is a compound word? And i never counted as I took your word for it.lol Panne
