A warrior on bended knee Under a constant rain of rocks I shield only me Seasoned as I am my will does weather letting battery in So I desperate dream of harbored love And my shield I raise to hang on hope... I then wonder from bended knee How light could this burden be... Now though I breathe deep summoning sole strength For beneath this rain of rocks I shield only me One's not half two it's two are halves of one EE Cummings |

love the sparse style of this. well done. very creative way to get the message across. looking forward to more. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

I am not sure if I am following your meaning, but it is very pretty poetry. Joyce |

ah, lovely poem and I sense that dreded fear of being known and of commitment. Dash the rock come into full sunlight and claim all the love and joy that is waiting for you! A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

This is a very deep read, Red_Feather. I like it, but I'm gonna have to think about it. "I hate quotes, they suck!" |

loved the style of this Don't ever give in, if you do you've lost everything you've ever had and everything you hope to gain, but if you carry on your already winning. |

I like your sense of purpose, Red Feather...along with the clear, concise imagery. Lary |

Thank you all so much for reading. I was amazed at the spectrum of reaction, from clear to obscure and somewhere in between. ellie- Thanks for being so exact with what you felt...even though it was not at all what i felt. I like poetry from which different things can be drawn by different people. Your response blew me away. Ryan One's not half two it's two are halves of one EE Cummings |
