She is There

Waking up wet and cold
early in the am, terrified.
Reaching out for comfort
and she is there.

Walking into a roomful
strangers staring, unknown.
Reaching for reinforcement
she takes my hand.

Watching a silly, sad movie
tears softly falling, stinging.
Reaching out for assurance
and she pats my arm.

Winking playfully, sexy
giving her that intimate smile.
Reaching out for loving
she kisses my lips.

Wearing all our many years
love in most every day.
Reaching out for comfort
and she is there.
