I wrote this one about a love affair between my three year old son and one of his toys. Hope y'all like it. A Toy StoryCaleb is an earthling little boy who likes to play with any little toy like balls, or broken wheels from little cars that cause big squeels. But the biggest of expressions of delight, is a boyish voice provoking Zurg to fight which comes from little lips that suck on Buzz Lightyear, plastic plated, missing “fuzz” but never ever lacking fun or slobber. Even when the Hero’s done and Caleb seems by light-weights more amused, Buzz wears his sheen of toddler spit to prove far more than any other toy he’s used to infinity and beyond. In the Gamma quadrant I’ve not seen a bond more close yet more far out, that makes those balled up figurines kissing toybox floors in jeans like long forgotten cowpokes pout. 3/2001 |

I know it's kind of tacky to point something out in my own poem. But little puns in my stuff gets missed alot because of obscurity... and I didn't want y'all to miss the double meaning of "missing fuzz". Any of you who have watched Toy Story thousands of times like me probably will get it. I'll shut up now! [This message has been edited by Stephanos (edited 03-29-2001).] |

Stephanos, I do understand the temptation to point things like that out, because sometimes I feel they are missed in my poems, too. This poem is a delight, and although I probably missed some references, not having watched for a while, I certainly see several you did not point out. I have some fond memories of my own son (no longer little) and the ways he used to play at that age. Thanks for sharing this. To love another person is to see the face of God. |

I haven't seen Toy Story even once, so I probably missed a lot in your poem, butI know little boys and I loved your poem. Joyce |

I remember one of my sons used to talk in sound effects all the time, this so neat poem brought back some treasured memories. A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
