Hey! I got my inspiration back. Here's a brand new poem for you all to enjoy.

Someone Once Told Me..
by: Joy

Someone once told me awhile back
When my wishes were suppressed
That you gotta sometimes take a chance
She said that fate was here to be tempted
and not to be afraid to be rejected

“We all get turned down once in a while.”
I said, “How do you know you’ll make it through?”
She mentioned faith would over rule
The golden fountain in the millionaire’s pool

“Honey,” She whispered,
“There will be fools who’ll stand against your dream.
But they just want a light turned on so they themselves will be seen

Don’t worry about them
Do your own thing, reach for your own dreams
And when you think everyone’s against what you’re about
Turn around and march right through the masses of doubt.”

Stumble around in the dark
Was her advice when you’re starting out
In this crazy world

Someone once told me awhile ago
That dreams belong to you alone
So the best thing to do when you can’t see your future
In the bleakest corners of darkened night
Is to reach up in your soul
And turn on the light

This is really good. I really like the inspiration here.

Wonderful! I love the faith and hope in your poem...ellie

Very nice, Joy. This seems like good advice, and I'm glad you took it to heart. I especially liked the last bit about reaching into your own soul to turn on the light. That's a good thought to take to bed with me tonight. Thanks!

More perfect words could not be spoken... I think I share this one with my daughters. Thanks for sharing... I bow to you and yours. Peace... and follow those dreams.

Thank you a_little_girl, ellie, Joyce, Marilyn and Andrew. I was thinking about my future when I wrote this. Unbelivable huh? *wink* It started out with the first lines running through my head. I picked up a pen...I think it turned out well.

always amazed at the immense talent you have, for a sixteen year old...i for one could hardly piece words together then...
