(My nephew took a job in Scotland and his wife is still over here but expects to join him shortly. This poem is for him) "Fred" My nephew is so special to me Darrin is his name, but I prefer 'Fred'. Once upon a time, a teacher he was to be But just couldn't drag himself out of bed. Years passed and from a boy a man did grow A loving, sensible, mature and understanding man. He married...and all his possessions he did endow To the girl of his dreams, the one he loves so. They lived in a big house and worked in the city These two were meant for each other. They were so in love and yet it was a pity When a setback came and they couldn't be together. As time passed and broken promises mended They were soon a couple again. Then came the offer of a job that demanded He go away from her...it was a strain. He was soon soaring on a jet plane Far away from his loved one. His mind centers on her picture frame As he sits in his unit all alone. He works very hard at his job To make things right when she comes over. He is trying to make an extra bob So once again they will be in clover. [This message has been edited by jbaker (edited 03-04-2001).] |

Jocelyn, this is quite a story...it is hard to be separated..from the one you love. But it sounds as if he is determined to change this situation..soon! Good luck to both of them..glad they have you in their corner... Twilah |

Nice story, sounds like they really love each other Don't ever give in, if you do you've lost everything you've ever had and everything you hope to gain, but if you carry on your already winning. |

Wonderful......a wonderful story. Great read! I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I'm in love with my shadow I admire it daily |

Nice poem...I can relate. My fiance lives in California and I in Georgia due to our occupations! I too await the day we can be together free of the bitter loneliness! I hope they visit each other soon! ~~Jamie I mean the opposite of what I say. You've got it now? No, it's the other way. ~Bruce Bennett |

Sounds like a tough situation, but from what you write it sounds like their love will carry them through. I'm sure they feel wonderful having you write specially for them, they must be very dear to you. |
