She sits there in the sandbox a perfect mudpie in her lap. He watches her with big, doe eyes peeking beneath his baseball cap. "Can I play with you?", he asks, as he shuffles his feet on the ground. "Sure", she answers happily, as she shyly looks around. "Would you like a piece of pie?", she asks "And perhaps a little drink?" "Ok", he answers timidly unsure of what to think. "I'll be the mom!", she spritely states, "and you can be the dad!" "I like you very much", she laughs. He's happy and answers, "I'm glad." Their mothers call to them at last. They must be home while it's light. They take each other by the hand, one black, the other white. |

As a father and grandfather, this has meaning, as a human being it has special meaning, will we ever see the day when a verse like this will have no real meaning?..bill Your usual great stuff. |

Wow, child! This shows a perspective I still wish I had...and I think the best part is the last couple lines, one hand black, one white...your poetry makes me feel inferior! Great job! Little Spyro T. Dragon |
