Today I celebrated my Birthday
I've made it to 51,
Knowing that now toward my next 50--
I now am starting at one!

It seems that my life goes in cycles
I end one thing- start something new,
Today I began on 51--
Now working t'ward 52!

To where have my Life's years fled?
They say it goes by having fun,
But it almost seems like yesterday
I married Linda, at age 21!

But now I must look to the future
Before the Grim Reaper appears,
How many years of the next 50
Shall I add to my number of years?

God grant me the strength for my days
THat whatever days shall be mine,
I'll live them out in Thankfulness
In the Joy of my life, I e'er find!

No Better Place do I know
Than where Hearts knit as
one,
For in that grand
experience,
The Better ALL become.

God Bless us All!!!

May the next fifty be MORE fun than the first fifty! Good poem, and could you pass the Geritol? Love ya bro!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, my dear friend...well join the crowd! We aren't getting any younger in the flesh, but our hearts are as young as springtime, especially you! You got a corner on being as silly as any kid I know!and it's a wonderful way to be too. love, Sis

One half of "uno" hundred, halfway to that grand old age,
Fifty's not so old, it's just another turning page.
Oft' when I read books, that penta number finds me still
in the preface or first chapter.  Who says fifty's o'er the hill?
But before you take great comfort in the things that I have said,
before you jig that vic'try dance upon your feather bed,
just know the book of which I spoke has 'least a thousand pages,
And though to live that long was hip and cool in former ages,
Methuselah is out of style, his length of days no trend,
Methinks that kind of life (for now) is quite "Gone with the wind"!

Geeze... sorry to be so depressing!   LOL.

Happy 51st!!!

A belated Happy Birthday, David!   Was going to respond sooner - got sidetracked.
The years between 50 and 60 are good ones - (I know, I've been there *g*)....
yielding a good vintage - mature flavor, with strength to still enjoy it! ( I think that's a mixed metaphor, LOL)
Now I'm wondering about the 60 to 70 span....
I enjoyed this immensely!

Had to read this, David..
the numbers captured my eye
for I was where you are today
and will be for a few months shy...
So have a Happy one this year
and keep your spirits high
Each year from now on shall become to you
a moments passing by...

I was sure I had replied to this one!  Sorry to be so late. I'm working on my next 50, too.  Hope it's great for all of us!

First HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Now may I say this is a great way to celebrate the next 50 to come? Looking forward to positive experiances is the best way! And of course ever seeking Gods way is the only way.
Love the poem.
