The pain I feel is deep and raw.
A crisis of monumental design.
I am as the earth, rent asunder.
Earthquake rips open a jagged wound,
bleeding all the hopes and dreams,
shaking my world to the very core.

There in that core, is found my strength,
mightier than I had ever known.
God given strength to endure.

This tradgedy has uncovered beauty
in each one of my children,
integrity of character and dignity.

my friends are true and faithful,
listening endlessly to my woes,
offering immeasurable comfort,
Wisdom, encouragement, and love.

How can so much pain
produce
such beauty?

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Ellie, this is one of the great paradoxes of life.  But think how many painful things produce beautiful ones - the birth of a child, for instance, or Jesus' sacrifice.  In fact, growth is almost never painless.  Honestly, I still wouldn't choose pain, but it is comforting to know something good can come from it.  hugs to you

What a beautiful poem.  THere truly can be beauty found amidst the pain.  Thank you so much for this read.  I enjoyed it a lot.

Ellie,
This is also so heart-wrenching, yet beautiful.  Yes somethings were are given to tred life's dark deep valleys, but even then, with faith & trust in the Goodness of God and His Providential care He has envested in others for your sake-His Light shines out of the Darkness/His love shines for from the gloom/His tender mercies come to you even with familiar faces of family & friends who stick by you, loving & caring for you in your plight.
I am eternally grateful-for your perceptiveness which can see the beauty even in the midst of the painful.
          Your Devoted Friend,

Mom,

This poem is incredible, so much truth.  Whenever there are times of darkness for me, I feel blessed that i can always come to you.

Ellie,
In the eye of the storm there is peace, that is where you'll find a faithful God and faithful friends who help you weather the storm. Another thoughtful poem by a dear friend and devoted mother. Peace unto you my Sister.
