the Promise Six inches of fresh snow fell this first day of brand new year. Streets blocked, home warm, holiday puttering about, chores and such. Outside with the puppy dogs quick smoke and look about. Overgrown rose bush shrouded semi-round with it’s white blanket. Shake of bush, snow falls away reveals frozen, bramble covered. Pulling the tangle apart, peeking inside...wonder of wonders! Looking into forgotten, lost spring preserved inside...almost perfect blossom. Surrounded, protected by snow and brambles surviving; yesterday’s rose, slightly brown. What beauty lies hidden, near forgotten masked by exterior ugly, even hostile? A simple act, a helping hand or two revealing treasure stored up by nature. Six inches of fresh snow fell this first day of brand new year. Winter yields a flower treasure, a promise upon my cheek...a frozen tear. bleeding... "Tis ink coming from his arm, Captain!" |

Very nice! It's good to be able to see the promise. To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |
