Pegasus soars from the flaming stars,
wings glow red from the kiss of the sun
as he glides low, to race the ebony skies;
Over Mount Helicon his golden hoof clips
craggy peaks that seeks the silent moon,
springs forth the clear waters of Hippocrene,
one of the three fountains that flows
inspirations for the poets’ muse;
Pauses to quench the thirst that never ends,
the search for his one true heart desire,
as he beholds The Lady who dreams
under the low willow boughs; the
enchanted dancer of words,
a weaver of magic in the lambent air,
while she sleeps in a vale of crystalline tears
that rains from a forsaken face.

Pegasus sheds his flaming wings
to gaze at the one who endlessly waits
as she sighs at his touch of wonder;
(Do they dream awake or rise in a dream?)
The Lady looks into the eyes that beholds
the longing of her very soul; she reaches out
as their hands met in mid-air, fingers touch
of realness, a true reality in mind;
She sighs and wakes in sheltering arms
of the red feathered cape that shimmers,
the dawn of the new horizon of time.

ellie LeJeune & DarkAngel, I was just talking to Peg today about how I consider Pegasas’ Red Wings and Secret Garden, to be  companion pieces and then I got thinking.  You know I actually had to look up the dates on these, could not remember which one  came first.  They were written, on June 17 and June 19, respectively; and I could have sworn that the Secret Garden came first… lol.

Thanks for you your lovely comments and for reminding me that these are as special as I remember them being.

…and the Lady writes on
