?
Cricket
Butterfly
Fluffy
Buster Brown
Midnight
Marmalade

Snowball
Pinky
Daisy
Baby

Here's to all the cats I've owned
All the little kitty's that have graced my home
All the little kitty's that I've called my own

All the little kitty's that have stole my heart
With all their special ways that their love imparts
Even though many are but memories
They left their pawprints forever on my heart

My first little kitty it's name forgot
Was given to me by my grandpa
When I was a little tot
I have a picture of myself
With it standing nearby
And I am laughing with delight
As my dad stokes it fur
And he's raising his back
Enjoying the moment with me

Here's to my memory of Butterfly
A black and white cat
Who chased butterflies

Here's to my memory of Cricket
A gray tabby cat
Who had her kittens on my birthday
Beneath my window sill
Oh what a thrill

Here's to my memory of Buster Brown
A brown tabby cat
Who was quite fat
And very affectionate
I remember that

Here's to my memory of Fluffy
A gray long haired fluffy cat
Who was my best friend
For a long, long time
He was my devoted buddy
Raised from kitten to a quite very old cat
I cried when he had to pass

Here's to my memory of Midnight
A black long haired cat
Who really was our neighbor's
But he didn't know that

Here's to my memory of Marmalade
A very sweet orange tabby
Who vowed to stay
When he owners moved him four miles away

Here's to my memory of Snowball
A huge fluffy white Persian
Who kept me company
When my husband was in Vietnam
He had a habit chasing barefoot feet
His only fault
He traveled across country with us and he
Was a good old cat

Here's to the memory of sweet Pinky
A black and white cat with a pink little nose
Family pet through the Indiana snows
She disappeared in a blizzard
Turned up next Spring
We sure had missed her
She had a survivor's story to tell

Here's to the memory of our sweet Daisy
A darling calico cat
We were head over heels crazy with her
She was our pride and joy
Our little son pulled her around
In a toy semi truck
She was like one of our children
We loved her so much

To all the cats that have come through our door
Your memories are cherished
And they still bring smiles to our face
When we think of all the pleasures
That your presence imparted
And time can't erase

And now for posterity's sake
I have to have to mention
The two cats
That are now sitting watch now
On the porch at our front door

Baby, a light orange, short haired cat
Who our daughter rescued
From a terrible plight
Who was near starvation
When she was found
Brought home and nursed
Back to health after being discarded.

Then Owl a big white fluffy cat
Who roamed the country side
Then decided to stay
In spite of our dogs
And their rough and tumble ways.

Owl and Baby now sleep together
With a new puppy sharing their
Cushioned bed, keeping good company
With all our critters who make up our family.

So now I hope I haven't bored you
With all the de-tails
Of our memories of cats
I know I probably did
If you're the kind of person
Who won't let a cat near you
So I will just let this go at that..

Maybe some people might do better as cats
If cats were people well maybe they are?
Spies probally? Character testers? Angels unaware?
Undercover agents?

I thought I saw a putty cat!

Ah yes, cats, those wonderful mystical beings that grace our lives...

From one cat lover to another...well done!

Since the age of 12 i vowed that i would always have at least one cat as a companian. My first and truest cat,who is still with me and who i've decided must be my soulmate for we are frighteningly alike!! We both loved your poem!!

Your passion for cats is admirable.  I hope you don't visit many bird lovers for their sake.

not especially fond of those independent felines but, I sure liked your tribute..isn't it amazing how animals become such an integral part of our lives..

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Cats rock!

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I hate your socks. I'd like to burn them!
