This was inspired by my favorite carol "Silent Night". In a way it was also inspired by other carols too...

O one holy night,
a beacon star shone bright,
some knew this would be a new light,
others a wonderous sight.

A little babe lay in a manger,
with mom and dad at His side,
in the small town of Bethlehem,
by the ruler's law abide.

They have journeyed long and hard,
and yet his journey would be harder,
he would found a religion and be a martyr,
for the heart of man.

But He had entered with Holy light,
and attracted three shepards, three kings and a drummer boy,
to celebrate this Holy joy.
And He's why all this happens,
on Christmas night.

ALittleGirl~
Wonderfully timely -
Drawing on His Light to bring us all
together in celebrating Christmas for what
it should be - His Birthday.
The most lasting gift we've ever received.
Thank you for sharing this.

nice tribute to the Christ.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

You have reminded me of all sorts of favorite carols.   Thanks.

This is incredible!!!!! Beautiful poem, little_girl (almost as beautiful as you!)
Yeah, it's a great tribute to Jesus...but then again, I have a lot to thank him for too...like for sending you...

Well...um...*blushing at what Spyro commented* I really thought that this kind of poem would be appreciated around this time of year. Christmas, I feel, is often taken for granted and shouldn't be. Well anyhow, thanks for your replies!!

A beautiful tribute you have penned

and yes you are so right, Christmas is taken for granted. It's not, in most cases celebrated as it should be.
