"It's a girl!!" I smile Through my tears He kisses me And goes to the bar For some beers He's a proud father Of two now Everyone cheers He laughs And demolishes All of his fears I'm asleep When he calls to stay A while, influenced by peers Then he drives home Drunk as hell Trying to shift gears Not very coherant To the left He slowly vears He's had an accident He's been gone Only two short years Happy Birthday, Angel From heaven above My precious dears When you are older You can talk with him And know he hears Your daddy loved you Remember that For all of you years But for now Just smile Through your tears In every memory, sweet or sad, we find a small piece of tomorrow. this is so very sad, Alicia..hope it's not a true experience for you.. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

I like the way you have inserted your sad, deep message into this happy poem. Very moving. |
