Rings around the moon Frosty breath hangs suspended Between heav'n and earth Hoot owl, nearby tree Alerts of this intrusion Echoes through meadow Weary travelers rest Chill engulfs body and soul Last thoughts of warm home 12-1-2000 [This message has been edited by Dennis L. I thought this was great. Just like all your others. You're so good at haiku's! I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I hate your socks. I'd like to burn them! |

This reminds me of "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening", though I'm not sure why. Nice feeling to this, Dennis. To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

Dear Dennis, I would say that with Haikus You have hit your stride But I would be wrong Your talent's so diversified! But you always give us A Portion of your Best With your wisdom, humor or descriptiveness Here we are truly Blest! Love, David To put together words & rhyme--and touch a life--is so sublime! Thank God for such precious contact! (D.L.White) |

Dennis, The image of travelers in the cold night, really comes through in this one! I love the first stanza, especially this line; "Frosty breath hangs suspended" and your last line changed the tone of your poem for me in a big way; "Last thoughts of warm home" It gave me the shivers! Really, really nice job! |
