Listening to every heart

I Already Have One…

I am doubly blessed in many ways,
So hear me God, in this I pray:

If I’ve two hands, can I make do with one?
If so Lord, give one of mine, to one without.
If I’ve two eyes, just to see,
Then oh Lord, give one of mine to the blind, please.

If I’ve two ears, just to hear,
Then just so Lord, I can with one, no doubt?
So give half of my hearing to another,
so that he may hear the word “brother”.

But this I pray, leave me my two legs,
That I may walk along, and spread your love.
And leave me my two arms, tho I have but one hand
For with two arms, I can still give Your hugs.

And leave my heart whole, so that it may grow
In your love, and in all that I know
To be right, and just, and kind, and good,
So someday you’ll rejoice in the stand you stood.

Karilea
If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

a very heartwarming tribute to Him..well done. we are our brother's keepers.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Karilea; This is a poem so filled with unselfish love, that it brings tears to my eyes! So beautifully written too. love, Ellie

This is a very giving poem, a very fitting Thanksgiving piece.  Nice thoughts.
