I've never done this before so forgive please if I didn't do this right. This is something I wrote when I was just learning what being a teen-ager was...need I say more? It is called Wandering Soul. Looking through a window gently splashed with rain, A little drop caught me eye and I felt a stab of pain. The steady dripping of the rain put me in a trance, Where wind whispers in my ear and puddle reflections dance. Frightening thoughts approach me one drop of rain's one fear... the night is filled with emptiness the shadows seem so near. Abruptly my dream ended, Back to reality with a pull.. My window wasn't a window at all, but a mirror for my Wandering Soul. [This message has been edited by Sheilan (edited 02-29-2000).] |

Coming into teenhood can be a confusing, frightening and lonely time. There is pain, fear and emptiness. Only a few lines have given a picture of where we all have been. |

Thanks all of you. I can't even begin how glad I was to stumble upon this site. I have always been very private about my poetry....as you know it's composed from purely heart and soul. Now I have an outlet of people who can understand or at least empathize. Thanks for the kind words all.... Sheilan |

Sheilan, Girl I am having a blast reading your work! you're really good! I liked this piece a lot too...I think we all continue constantly searching for who we are, and our place in this world. Kudos to you for putting it into words, you did it beautifully. You have a true talent, and I will be looking for more of your work. This poem is great as it talks about something i`m sure we can all relate to. I look forward to reading more of your stuff too, cause so far it`s looking good. "The world is never the same once a good poem has been added to it." -Dylan Thomas |
