I was sitting on my back porch
counting fireflies
when I saw a shooting star
and made a wish beneath the sky

Back to counting fireflies
sipping hot mint tea
I heard a voice say "thank you"
then a fairy did I see

She sat upon the railing
and weary did she seem
'You are welcome little fae'
I said in moonlit gleem

" But why thank me? " I asked
and the fairy smiled at me
" For being what Squatch said you are..
friend to myths like me."

'Well of course you're always welcome,
no need for fear of me.
do you have a name my dear?'
" Yes, I am Destiny."

My eyes grew wide and I did bow
to the elf sized queen
'Its I who should be thankful
not you Fae Destiny'

" I know you are one solstice born,
three days before the King,
unlike the magi, bringing gifts
I ask something for me."

'What is that your Majesty?
What would you need of me? '
"Your friendship and your home
oft filled hospitably."

'My friendship do I give you
my house is yours good Queen
but tell me why these things you ask.
have you "met your destiny" ??

" No, good Solstice Son" she laughed
you caught tween time and space
I'm just a wee bit tired of humans
so I'm crashing here at your place

Ahh...For some reason this made me think of Willow from the Inn and a few others I haven't seen for a while....Now I've got to scamper off and read the next two...   Very nicely done, hon...

Solstice, on to two...

If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

i love your poems.....they make my day!

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I hate your socks. I'd like to burn them!
