I awoke to the sound of silence
Winter had gently wrapped
The world in white
While I had slept

The soft falling snowflakes
Had carpeted the ground and streets in white
The roof tops basked in the sun
A glistening sparkling white

The silent world around me
Heralded a day of winter rest
Making my home seem like a haven
And me a mother bird in her nest

No school today
Just a day to play
A day for red noses
And mittens that hang drying by the fire
A day to make some memories
That we can savor in years to come
As we sit rocking by the fire.

this piece really relaxed me and brought back a flood of memories..nice job.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Dear friend; How exqisite a scene you paint. I could feel and experience the warmth and love that always eminates from your sweet loving heart, my friend. Love, Ellie

SeptSong~
I'm sure it was a lovely view -
I basked in the glow of 80 degree sunshine today -
But, we're expecting a cool snap to come in by tomorrow evening.
Brrrrrr !  Don't like cold weather.
I get my snow scenes on cards or
in lovely poetry such as this.

Nicely phrased thoughts.

That is an attractive scene you present.     If only they would call snow days at work!

I know that absence of sound...and you've expressed it very well...
