One autumn day, way back when,
A dragon sat there in his den.
He pondered what a dragon does,
And plain forgot just what that was.

He went to see a girl for help--
On seeing him she made a yelp,
But otherwise could help him out
In the strange plea he asked about.

At first he sat down on a log
And mimicked sounding like a dog.
"Dragons don't bark," the little girl said,
At his mistake he bowed his head.

Next he made his voice go loose
And tried to sound just like a goose.
"Dragons do not honk like geese!"
The little girl giggled into her fleece.

Another attempt brought a vulture's call.
"No, cawing doesn't fit at all!"
Since that sound just didn't work,
He tried something with a little perk.

Out came an alligator's grunt!
"Hehe, that's a cute little stunt,
But still that's not like a dragon's sound!"
At once more failing, the dragon frowned.

The noise was like a waking rooster!
"Well, that could be your morning booster,
But still that's not what dragons do!"
So the dragon tried out something new.

Then was the hoot of a nighttime owl.
"Still not right," said the girl, with a scowl.
Still got a couple tricks up my sleeve,
the dragon thought, for his plight to relieve.

The elephant's trumpet filled the air!
"Hmm...you may have something there,
But still not what a dragon does."
Confused, he didn't know what it was!

Finally, sound of a dreadful roar
Such as no one ever heard before
Erupted from the dragon's chest...
But now the girl seemed quite distressed!

She shivered and shook, tense as a leaf,
Frightened and shaking beyond his belief!
Then he remembered what dragons really do...
The memory had finally, now come through!

The next thing the little girl knew,
She felt a great warmth her whole body through--
A feeling like being squashed like a bug...
As the big dragon caught her in a hug.

Hey everyone!!

Sorry I was so long in posting...several factors contributed to my long time away from the Pub, such as schoolwork, some slight problems at home, and the fact that the Muse had left me--maybe he/she went on vacation for a little while...   Oh well, I hope whoever they are is back now and I'm ready for more! Hope you guys like my "Li'l" comeback!

A fine piece of work, my friend. Tell me, where did you get the idea for this? I'm guessing you woke up one morning and forgot that you were Spyro, the little dragon that everyone here seems to know or has heard of... A nice little reputation--but you must remember that you've got it, young one.

Can I have one of those dragon hugs too

Aww, thanks so much people...
*gives hugs to everyone, regardless of whether they want one or not*...hehe

Yes, I'm back, but I'm afraid I won't be posting in the Pub very much...but I have something planned, and I'm going to propose it to the good sir Ron and see what he has to say about it...if it works, I'll have a nice surprise for everybody!

But for now, I can only hope.
