At the Laundromat Weekend regulars Sacrificing their quarters To the laundry gods. Tan migrant workers Speaking in an unknown tongue Lost in Anglo town. Intricate puzzle - That guy will never solve it - Folding fitted sheet. Harried young mothers Fitting family washing Into busy day. Strutting back and forth, Full of his own importance, Entrancing toddler. Hot tumbling dryers Smell of fabric freshener Almost time to fold. To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

KCS~ What a delightful grouping of Senryu. My favorite *giggling* is 'Intricate puzzle - That guy will never solve it - Folding fitted sheet.' Oh, what a smile you've given me ! ![]() I just love them ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Marilyn; I can just see you sitting there with pen and paper, writing these little gems! Great job, my favorie is the self important toddler! Ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

KcsGrandma, You have filled a senryu picture album in verse, individual moments, snapshots captured for us to see! How delightful and insightful of the people and events of a laundramat visit. Dennis :^) Moonbeams radiate When the veiling cloud has passed Playful shadows dance Dennis L. White :^) |

People really KNOW how to fold fitted sheets? LOL! I never have figured it out! Fun poem to read, reminds me of my own moments in the laundromat when I first got married! |

Ah..been here many times. Thankfully, I have my own washer and dryer now. And I know how to fold fitted sheets, but it takes TWO people to do it. ![]() |

Kaile - Thank you for your kind comments! It so happens that I wrote some more this weekend that I hope to be posting later tonight. I enjoy playing with forms. Sometimes things seem to work for me better in one form than another. Thanks for your interest in my poetry. ![]() Maria - Thanks for the laugh. It makes people watching more fun, doesn't it? Debbie - ![]() ![]() Poet DeVine - I do envy you the washer and dryer, but have learned to fold those sheets by myself, at least to my satisfaction. ![]() To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

Boy and to think that I used to hate going to the laundermat! Maybe I should have been looking for poems while waiting for my laundry to get done, but of course I was one of those harried mothers! |
