I wrote this for my father, he was recently diagnosed with throat cancer and had his vocal cords removed. Dad, You’ve always used the fewest words to speak so much to me, and now that you have lost your voice, I hope that you will see, It was never how you sounded, it was what you had to say, words selected carefully, could brighten up my day. I’ve always known you loved me, it isn’t what you said, the love and pride shines in your eyes, you tell me there instead. Don’t worry dad, I understand the words you’d like to say, it’s not too late for us to talk a new and different way. We both have said some things, that were better left unspoken, two voices struck uneven cords, and left our spirits broken. Lets talk without our voices now, it really doesn’t matter it’s how we sound inside that counts, not useless words we chatter. In eyes and touch, in thoughts and prayers, your message will convey, everything you’ve wished you said, or ever hoped to say. |

This is well said, Debbie. I hope your father has seen it. He must be very proud of you. To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

Debbie, Very nicely written. It's not just sound that people can hear. It is the voice in your eyes, as well. Thank you for these words. Melton |

Debbie; I'm so sorry that your Dad had to go through this terrible experience, but your words here are so perfect, everything that's important is said with the heart and can be seen in the eyes. You are a wonderful daughter and your Dad is so very proud, I'm sure. Love, Ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

Debbie, This is a touching reminder that our words are not as important as the content of our heart. You Father is blest to have as understanding and caring daughter as you. God bless you both. Tis is beautiful.. I hope your dad seen it!! Wow. With a little piece of tomorrow, You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye. Because today won't last forever, And the past will only make you cry. |
