Flying high above the clouds,
Terrestial view is different now,
Patch work quilt of farm fields,
Show results from burdened plow.

Planted crops and fallow fields,
Each with its' distinctive hue,
Paint a scene of mans' dominion,
From the heavens wonderous view.

Puffy clouds hang in the air,
Floating, no evident foundation,
Prompt the mind to define shapes,
Suggested by the clouds' formation.

Bodies of water lie beneath,
Sparkle in the morning light,
Snaking rivers and proud lakes,
Views of them bring such delight!

Five miles high the view is splendid,
Above the cities, in the air,
It's like watching human anthills,
Take in their beauty, without a care!

Sometimes you have to let go and move on,
But never let go of the memories.

I enjoyed this.  It made me remember what I like about flying.  No turbulence here!

To love another person is to see the face of God.

Dear Dennis; Do you know what i loved best about this poem? Your childlike wonder at it all! That's what came through so clearly, the, from your heart apsolute wonder at all you saw from that window and then with your inevitable talent for poetry, you brought it all alive here, Bravo! Love, Sis P.U.Y.M.B.

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Wow you must have been flying over Chicago, Reminds me of all the thoughts that were going through my mind last time I saw Chicago from the air. Nicely written.

Wow Bro,
I fly so very seldom, but when I do, I share with you a similar sense of wonderment of the experience. How quickly our perception of things change.  It really is for me both an awesome and humbling experience-and you have expressed it so very well in this poem.  Thank you Bro.,  David

WOW- another day of life-and here among friends!

Sweet.

With a little piece of tomorrow,
You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye.
Because today won't last forever,
And the past will only make you cry.
