The yellow tinge invades the green
The spidery web is made unseen
The evening sun recedes from view
I take a breath and think of you

Our spring was fresh with life’s sweet prayer
With lovers dreams draped through your hair
With daisy chains entangled gold
With eternal beats our hearts would hold

My perfect friend my summer wine
I’m sipping now…. the taste so fine
Here in my seat among my treasure
Reminds me of our springtime pleasure

The evening chill brings back to mind
In winters snow the children find
An old flat log …….and scream with glee
The toboggan rides and you hug me

And that day of fun in swirling fog
We lost our way and found a dog
All tattered and wet …the look of strife
He followed us home and shared our life

The honey suckle with its clinging dew
The dusky scent……. just drifting trough
The autumn air helps me to find
Images of you locked in my mind

The sun is melting from my sight
But thoughts of you on this sweet night
Are caressing my heart with velvet hand
With both my feet in golden sand

Our seasons spent with joy were blessed
When storm clouds broke we stood the test
Together we’ll welcome with love sublime
The magic of the autumn time

Autumn leaves fall to the floor
With winters frosts awoken
A chilly wind blows from the north
The summers spell is broken

All the birds are flying south
To live in warmer climes
They'll be back when the snowy skies
Give way to new spring times

I'll promise now to hold your hand
And watch the Robin sing
If you will promise to keep me close
And dance with me in spring

Well I didn't know what to do with this so I put it here     Jon

Jon; So lovely and romantic! The second part just as delightful. You really should repost someday and join the two. Beautiful writing. Ellie

Jon~
Well, color me happy !
There are just some lovely thoughts nestled here.
Such tender images jump center-stage.

I enjoyed the joy in each line - both poems !

Jon, I've been away for a bit...wish you told me to return overstocked with double thick mens' tissues..   Oh, this is wonderful - like looking through a keyhole at someone's life and feeling left out. Sob!

I haven't read a sad poem and felt so happy before.
The memories that were penned here made me smile, and the visions, well, there perfectly painted in my mind.
Wonderful, wonderful!
