Ah, what a beautiful summers' day!
Hello! I hope I'm not in your way...
Ack! There's a dragon in front of me!
Heh, as if that wasn't plain to see...
I draw now my sword, I shall put up a fight!
Why must you always be wary, o Knight?
Because if I'm not, my life I will lose!
But violence's always what you choose!
I propose a truce to thee...
Oh, you'll never pass that trick by me!
I know that you will eat me whole
And that I simply can't console.
You know that what you speak is lies?
Do you see carnage in my eyes?
Last night I had some casserole!

The knight thought hard, then soon he came
To want to ask the dragon's name.

My name is Spyro, noble Knight!
I must admit, you're quite a sight...
Meeting you has been a pleasure!
Ah, you wouldn't happen to hoard some treasure...?

...well, if you'd visit my humble lair
You might just find some treasure there!
It's not very far, just over those hills...
Good, 'cause I need to pay my bills!

And that treasure is volumes of Dragon Poetry

a little burnt around the edges of the pages.

from over zealous fire breathing

Duck.................scorch haaaaaaaaaa

Spyro, Noble Knight,
Tis wise to keep a eye on that one, the most clever of dragons, next thing you know you two will be up singing dragon songs ALL night long! Enjoyed thy conversational verse!

I think this poem is the "treasure", and I thank you for great worth of it! Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Hey, the knight was a nice guy! I helped him pay off his bills...man, the M.R.S. (Medieval Revenue Service) really nailed him! It's a good thing he had a dragon to count on.

Thanks for your replies everyone!

As always, Spyro, you've managed to bring a smile to my face.. This is wonderful!!

With a little piece of tomorrow,
You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye.
Because today won't last forever,
And the past will only make you cry.

hehe thanks!

Another smile on the Angel's face is the Corner Pub's best saving grace.

Um...I'm not that good at drawing, so I can't really make this a comic...but hope it's comical enough!

Hope to see your latest post, Kevin!

I must say ,Sam-
This Dragon is the most congenial I've ever heard of since that Magic Dragon named Puff.
A very entertaining piece you've conjured up-  Enjoyed it much!   David

A job well done, Spyro. This is a funny poem on a serious topic.
